BandsOfTheBay.com will be among music industry groups at the upcoming Bay Rising Music Expo in San Francisco on Aug. 27.
From navigating digital distribution to online search strategies that increase fan exposure, musicians attending the free Expo will gain the tools necessary to succeed in today’s do-it-yourself music industry.
Participants will also have the opportunity to win a guitar from Guitar Center
(valued at $700), a UAD1 Card from Universal Audio (valued at $500), and other great prizes.
The community building/networking event features such organizations as BMI, Zazzle Music, CopyCats Media, InGrooves, Fuze Management, Charles Stella Mastering, Fusicology, Pyramind, Listen To.Me, SonicBids, The Owl Mag, Community Musician, Cutting Edge, GC Pro and FizzKicks.
There will also be a panel discussion with music industry experts Joyce Williams (Zazzle, Artist Manager), Joe Maggini (BMI, Writer-Publisher Relations), Craig Hordlow (Online Marketing/Search Strategist - Community Musician/Red Bricks Media), and Adam Hiles (InGrooves, Digital Distribution).
Special guest panelist Forrest Day (last
year’s Bay Rising runner-up) will also explain how musicians can use a dedicated grass-roots approach to build their fan base.
The event is hosted by Yonas Media, a cooperative launching pad for musicians with an original approach to music. With studios in Oakland and New York, Yonas Media provides production, promotion, management, and a wide range of recording services.
