Yes, we know it was very late 80s/90s of us to even have a party for a website, but what they hey! We just wanted to have a good excuse to get out from behind the computer keyboards we’re chained to and listen to some GREAT music.
You’ll hear more from our music man around town, Alan Fackler, but I just have to say, I was so, so impressed by the quality of our bands, most of which have profiles on here. Check back later today for TONS of photos from Alan and more this week from our staff photogs Ray and Dan.
Cadium Red, a brand new band from S.F., had energy and a hell of a stage presence. That bassist was getting DOWN and serious. Thanks to you all for coming all the way out to Red House in the Creek and for bringing a decent posse of fans in the doors.
The French Cassettes, who came the farthest, all the way from Ripon. I would pay lots of money to buy their music, and these dudes are still in high school. They rocked the house big time.
The The New Centuries, from S.F. Loved them. These cool dudes take the 80s and turn them into modern rock. Would buy their stuff too.
And finally, a band close to our heart, Mingus Amungus, headed by lyricist Martin Reynolds, our longtime colleague who knows how to fuse rap & jazz like none other. Never knew you had that sweet deep voice, my friend Martin. These guys belong at Yoshis nightly. Seriously. We were honored they played our small yet so stylish and classy venue, Red House. (Thanks Raja..you guys were pros.)
For a first event, not too shabby, peeps. It makes me believe 100 percent that we are doing the right thing in giving Bay Area musicians a home that’s all their own.

On behalf of Cadium Red we would also like to say the party rocked. We wanna thank bandsofthebay.com for giving us the opportunity to play and showcase our songs and we hope you liked them. We hope to play more shows and parties thrown by bands of the bay so that we may present our new material as well and socialize with other bands as well. Once again, thank you.
