Bio - 22 year old singer/songwriter Randi Ray got her start in music at 11 years old as a drummer for her church’s band. At 15 and with a guitar in hand, she found she could turn the contents of her stacks of journals into songs, and so began her love affair with setting her heart to music. Randi began playing shows throughout the San Francisco Bay Area a few years later with her growing collection of songs, selling her independently recorded acoustic demo cd at every performance. In late December of 2008, Randi was featured in a newspaper article that ran throughout the Bay Area, which was quickly followed up with an album review by Bandsofthebay.com. In recent months, Randi's music has been featured on various websites and Comcast digital cable commercials, and she has appeard on local and nationwide television in interviews and performing her music. One of her independently recorded songs will be released on a folk compilation album (Goin' Back Home) in stores Fall 09, and three original songs have gained radio play in Visalia, CA. A new EP titled "Rush of my Heart" is set to be released in the coming months.

Fan Shout Outs
Michael Mercer - GREAT cover choice Randi - and your interpretation was wholly your own, which is also key in performing a cover of an already established "classic": Owning It!! Glad to have you here on BOTB. Keep playing, keep working. If you want anything bad enough, the words stop and no should become meaningless to you.
Leslie - This is so wonderful I love your sound. Great job
Mike of Cynema - Damn, I can see why Mercer and BOTB went so apeshit over this girl. Fantastic vocals with a grasp on complex melodies that most musicians will never achieve in their entire lives. Probably doesn't hurt that she's pretty, either. I have to say though, the demo MP3 here... the overdubs and overall cleanliness of the mix shows someone put some care into it, but the EQ on the vocals is a little thick through the middle and lacks some crispness. There are also some audible p-pops. Anyway, we'd be proud to share a stage with you anytime.
