Bio - Based out of the San Francisco Bay Area and formed originally in 2002 as “The Neighbors”, Jose Vega, Mister Le, and Tykho Brahe have joined forces with John Barnacle to form what is now known as Artificia. Having already headlined several events, Artificia has the talent and drive to continue expanding the limits of music as a performing act. Musical backgrounds of the members range from self-taught to professionally trained to create a unique mix based strongly on feeling with technical intervention when necessary. With traditional hip hop roots, the group fairs away into new territory for ‘hip hop’ by incorporating elements of psychedelic rock and electronica influence. The Artificia sound is derived from ingesting years of Aesop Rock, John Digweed, Eligh, Led Zeppelin, EL-P, Pink Floyd, Radiohead, Rage Against the Machine, Atmosphere, Nirvana, Sage Francis, and various other acts that have played a part in their upbringings. After completing and releasing two EPs, the group is itching to let their album into the world which will happen at the release show in the near future...
